Guyana is forecasted to be the fastest growing economy in the world fuelled by it rapidly developing energy sector; exporTT was pleased to participate in the TTMA Trade Mission to Guyana held from November 20-22, 2019.
Apart from global interest, there were five official trade delegations from Trinidad and Tobago to the market, in the last two years. The delegations were led by various organisations, namely the Energy Chamber of Trinidad & Tobago; the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry & Commerce; exporTT Limited in January 2018 and the Trinidad & Tobago in Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA). The latter hosting two independent missions to the market.
GIPEX 2019
This TTMA-led Trade Mission was hosted to coincide with the second edition of the Guyana International Petroleum Business Summit & Exhibition (GIPEX 2019) held at the Marriott Hotel, Georgetown, Guyana. The Conference saw the participation of over 200 international companies plus 40 local operators.
An average of 100 exhibitors showcased at the event, comprising mainly international energy sector operators in partnership with Guyanese Enterprises. Trinidad and Tobago’s exhibitors at the event ranged from recruitment and logistics to energy services operators.
During GIPEX, 2019, exporTT met with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry to discuss collaborative initiatives. exporTT obtained a copy of the Chamber’s 2019/2020 Business Directory outlining its Membership Listing of over 300 Guyanese businesses. This database will be useful in targeting Buyers from the market.
Trade Mission B2B Meetings
The TTMA team coordinated targeted business-to-business (B2B) meetings for the Trinidad and Tobago companies on the Trade Mission. exporTT took the opportunity to engage all of the Buyers visiting the delegation. exporTT’s objective was to screen the attendees and secure quality Buyers for its Inward Buyers’ Mission, 2020.
A number of positive leads were generated and the selected Buyers were invited to attend exporTT’s upcoming Mission scheduled to be held in Trinidad and Tobago.
