Diverse exhibition for exporTT at in-person TIC 2022.

The Trinidad and Tobago’s Manufacturer’s Association (TTMA) Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) 2022 took place at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, on August 25th-27th. A unique venture, this year’s TIC posed its challenges, but through efficient management, it was the first in-person physical exhibition in two years since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the national export facilitation organisation of Trinidad and Tobago, exporTT’s participation highlighted the diversified range of products of our Clients at this year’s exhibition.

Strategically, the TIC is structured to build and grow export opportunities from Trinidad and Tobago by creating market opportunities for local manufacturers. exporTT also participated as part of the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s (MTI) Pavilion.

A highlight of exporTT’s participation in TIC was the display of locally manufactured items from a range of our Clients. Our exhibitors, all beneficiaries of our development funds and programmes at exporTT, provided a cadre of products covering the food and beverage, chemicals, personal care and construction sectors. Visitors to the Pavilion also learned more about our programmes and funding opportunities for exporters and potential exporters. On each day, our exporTT staff recruited new registrants to the Trinidad and Tobago SheTrades Hub – an International Trade Centre platform that addresses the barriers women face when accessing economic opportunities. Also at the Pavilion, representatives from the MTI provided visitors with information on the Ministry’s various grants and services and guided them through the recently launched Trade and Business Information Portal.

TIC 2022 also featured a Business Education Series, which took place in the days preceding the convention. exporTT’s Crisen Maharaj, Manager- Capacity Building and Funding, along with Reshana Singh, Senior Economist (Ag) at the Ministry of Trade and Industry hosted a webinar on “Incentives to Encourage Export Growth” via Zoom.

If you were unable to attend this year’s exhibition, here’s a list of some producers of locally manufactured items that have been a part of our programmes at exporTT:
