On Wednesday 9th June 2021, close to 70 participants, mainly young and upcoming local entrepreneurs soaked in knowledge on the national GMP Standard, Roles of the Ministry of Health’s Public Health and Chemistry Food and Drugs Divisions, and Export Support Services presented by representatives of the TTBS, CFDD, Public Health and exporTT respectively.
There was also a discussion led by the Managing Director of the Habanero Pepper Sauce Company, speaking of first hand experiences and benefits of companies implementing food safety standards.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry in collaboration with exporTT, the @Trinidad & Tobago Bureau of Standards – TTBS , Youth Business Trinidad and Tobago (YBTT) , and the Ministry of Health – Trinidad and Tobago Chemistry Food and Drugs and Public Health Divisions hosted the webinar Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs in the Food Industry to adopt Good Manufacturing Practices.
